ABOUT ME
STEVEN ITO, APRN,FNP-C
FAMILY MEDICINE
Aloha,
My name is Steven Ito and I am a Family Nurse Practitioner. I am originally born and raised on the island of Oahu and my family has been in Hawaii for over 5 generations. I previously worked at a community clinic in Southern California providing the primary care needs of a medically high need population.
I have experienced caring for patients with a variety of health needs including managing their diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, thyroid, arthritis and many other common health diseases. Prior to working in primary care as a Family Nurse Practitioner, I also have bedside Registered Nursing experience working with the pediatric population on a Hematology/Oncology Unit.
These experiences and the passion I have for helping others, allows me to give the highest level of care for my patients. As your Primary care provider, I will strive to always give you the safest, most uptodate and compassionate care.
Mahalo!

WHAT IS A FAMILY NURSE PRACTITIONER ?
A Family Nurse Practitioner works equally and independently, as a physician does. Nurse Practitioners have advanced degress, licensure, further training and national certification to be able to diagnose, prescribe medications and treat all of your healthcare needs exactly like a physician.
We do not work under or for a physician and neither do we need more schooling to become a physician. Nurse Practitioners work equally and independently with physicians. Although we have different titles and degrees from physicians we are both trained to do the same thing, which is to care for all of your primary care needs.
